THE REMAKING OF THINGS

Dear you,

We invite you to explore The remaking of things, a new work commissioned by the National Gallery of Victoria for Melbourne Now.

For our part of Melbourne Now, we have made a green pocket of restored eucalyptus forest habitat especially for the Grey-headed flying fox, collaged from 100 pieces in the collection of the NGV. Accompanying our 35-metre-long collage, a 24-minute sound and light loop allows you to experience the dawn fly-in to dusk fly-out of a colony of flying foxes.

Melbourne Now opens tomorrow and runs until the 20th August, 2023.

The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia
Fed Square, Melbourne

Entry to NGV Australia is free
Open daily 10am–5pm

In addition to this piece, there is a NGV collage activity, open to all, in the middle of the forest, and various activities listed below as part of our Melbourne Now Community Hall Artists-in-Residence for the month of April. If you can, please pop along to any or all; we'd love to see you there.
